Kanye West says 20 Percent Of ‘Jesus Is King’ album Was Recorded On an iPhone

According to Kanye West himself, 20 percent of his ninth studio album ‘Jesus Is King’ was recorded on his iPhone with the Voice Memos app.

During a 2020 interview with GQ for his cover story, Kanye revealed 20 Percent Of ‘Jesus Is King’ album Was Recorded On his iPhone

“I just rap into my iPhone. Best microphone on the planet,” Kanye says. “Thirty, forty percent of The College Dropout was recorded on a [Roland] VS-1680. Twenty percent of JESUS IS KING was recorded on an iPhone.”

Kanye also called the iPhone the “Best microphone on the planet.”

“Yes. I first started doing that on Yeezus,” he said. “Like ‘Closed on Sunday, you’re my Chick-fil-A’—that part is off the phone [iPhone].”
