Drake‘s Views single “One Dance” became the first song on Spotify’s to reach one Billion Streams on December 12, 2016. One Dance dethroned Major Lazer’s “Lean On” record (880 million streams then) and held the streaming record for almost a year before being surpassed by “Shape of You” on September 21, 2017.

One Dance featured Wizkid and Kyla, the record was released on April 5, 2016 and racked up those 1.001 billion streams in less than nine months.

“One Dance” was also No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 10 consecutive weeks.
