Travis Scott says he may be driving himself crazy trying to find the new sound, but the “ecstasy” of finding it is unmatched
Travis Scott’s next album Utopia is one of the most anticipated albums this year. Travis has been hinting at the project since last year. In a recent interview with Director Robert Rodriguez for i-D, the rapper has disclosed more details about the upcoming album.
Travis was asked about who he is working with on his album, but he didn’t answer the question but he did provide some information about the project.
“Ahh man, you know, it’s so crazy. I never tell people this, and I’m probably going to keep it a secret still, but I’m working with some new people and I’m just trying to expand the sound.” He said, before continuing, “I’ve been making beats again, rapping on my own beats, just putting everything together and trying to grow it really. That’s been one of the most fun things about working on this album. I’m evolving, collaborating with new people, delivering a whole new sound, a whole new range.”
Robert also asked Cactus Jack if he feels any pressure making the biggest album of the year:
“I don’t feel no pressure, except to keep the fans alive. There’s so much more ground I can cover, and I want to cover it, and I love the challenge of it. I want to make a fucking new sound. I might spend days banging my head against a wall trying to figure it out, but once I do it, it’s like ultimate ecstasy.”
Travis hasn’t issued a specific release date for Utopia yet, it’s still unclear when it will arrive. In 2020, he did confirm in a tweet that the album will arrive in 2021. Keep checking in as we will bring you details surrounding Travis Scott’s upcoming project as they emerge.
