T.I. was defended by his son King
Atlanta rapper T.I. recently caught some heat after a 2020 clip resurfaced of him revealing that he once pinned a gun case on his deceased cousin to avoid conviction. Per HipHopDx, Tip’s son King hopped on Instagram live Monday (December 12) to push back the accusations that his dad “snitched.”
“Y’all could tell me I’m wrong or whatever. Y’all throwing out the wrong words,” King explained. “Look, listen. A snitch, a rat, a mouse is you putting somebody… If you put somebody else in trouble and you get out. Somebody has to do time and shit like that for you [to be a snitch].”
In the clip taken from his podcast, TI recalled being arrested with his cousin Toot and a gun was found in his possession. Toot was later killed while the case was ongoing, and after having a “talk” with him and his lawyer, he claimed the gun belonged to his dead cousin. The charges were consequently dropped.
“We caught those gun cases, Toot died. My lawyer said, ‘Well, you know, I could make everything go away if it was Toot’s, it was Tremel’s,’” he said. “After he had passed, I had a talk with him. Toot said, ‘I’ll take all the charges you got! If you can walk away free and put it on me, goddamn right! ‘Cause I’ll be damned if they gon’ come and muthafucking extradite me from here!’”
