DMX is the first rapper to have his first five albums debut at No. 1

DMX‘s first five albums It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot, Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood, … And Then There Was X, The Great Depression and Grand Champ all debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making DMX the first and only rapper to accomplish this.

DMX was the first rapper to have his debut and sophomore albums debut at No. 1 in the same year.

DMX’s first five albums were all released under Ruff Ryder Records, his sixth album Year of the Dog… Again (2006) debuted at No. 2. DMX’s debut album It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot—released May 12, 1998— and his sophomore album Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood—released December 22, 1998— both debuted at No. 1 in the same year of 1998.
