The account, which had been dedicated to connecting Ashanti’s fans for over 20 years, posted a heartfelt message explaining the decision to close.
“In light of recent news about Nelly and the decisions he has made… I can no longer run @AshantiNews or support The Haynes in the direction they are going,” the post read. “It’s beyond disappointing.” The fan page expressed its disappointment with Nelly’s performance at the inauguration, which led to a wave of criticism for the couple.
Nelly has since defended his decision to perform at the event, stating that his participation was an honor, regardless of political affiliation. “It’s not about money.
