Broad Street Bully Calls Out Hov Over Release Timing

Beanie Sigel has sparked controversy by claiming that JAY-Z intentionally overshadowed his album releases during their time at Roc-A-Fella Records.

In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, the Philadelphia rapper questioned why JAY-Z’s albums consistently dropped around the same time as his own.

“I used to have questions like, ‘Why every time my album dropped, Jay would drop right on top of me or right before me?’” Sigel said. “Back then it was physical copies, so if you had $20 saved up, nine times out of 10 you’re going to buy the JAY-Z album.”

Fans on social media, however, are questioning his claims. One user on X (formerly Twitter) analyzed the release dates of their albums and found little evidence to support Sigel’s assertion. The user pointed out that Jay-Z’s major releases often came months before or after Sigel’s albums.

“The facts show that this is a lie,” the fan argued, adding that Sigel should take accountability for his career trajectory instead of blaming JAY-Z.

Neither JAY-Z nor his team have responded to Sigel’s statements.
