With the first quarter of this century passing through, Beyoncé has been declared by Billboard to be the greatest pop star of this century
This week, the paper published the number one of their selection after a countdown from 25, with Swift coming second. As impressive as Swift is in the number game, Billboard reasoned that Beyoncé’s influence and achievements were too deep by far to measure.
“Few can match her in key areas of pop success-from commercial success through performance skills to critical acclaim and iconic cultural moments-in this time.” The magazine said, “Even Taylor Swift, who is ahead of Beyoncé in most areas, has not had enough time to match the size of Beyoncé’s 25-year dominance.”
