Lil Tjay has publicly denied any involvement in the shooting that targeted streamer Konvy during a live broadcast in the Bronx, after social media users began linking the Bronx rapper to the incident through alleged Instagram posts and online speculation.[1] According to AllHipHop, the shooting took place while Konvy was livestreaming from a car on January 9, 2026, in the Bronx, prompting immediate chatter online that reportedly tried to connect Lil Tjay to the drive-by.[1]

In a statement shared on social media, Lil Tjay directly addressed the rumors, distancing himself from the attack and criticizing blogs and users for spreading misinformation. According to AllHipHop, Tjay said, “I had nothing to do with what happened last night in the Bronx,” adding that “blogs are circulating old posts, taken out of context, and presenting them as recent, which is false.”[1] He also expressed sympathy for those affected, reportedly stating that his prayers are with everyone involved and asking people to “stop spreading misinformation.”[1]

The incident unfolded live on stream as Konvy rode in a car with friends in the Bronx when a green dot appeared on his head moments before gunfire erupted, forcing everyone to scramble out of the vehicle.[1][3] Commentary videos covering the situation note that multiple shots were fired and that one of Konvy’s friends, identified as JJ, was reportedly hospitalized following the shooting, while Konvy himself was said to be unharmed.[1][3] A YouTube breakdown of the incident highlights how quickly speculation spread on Reddit and other platforms, with some users alleging that “everyone knows it’s Lil Tjay’s circle that done it,” though no evidence has been presented to substantiate those claims.[3] At the time of reporting, there have been no official police statements naming any suspects or confirming a motive.[1]

Online, screenshots circulated that allegedly showed Instagram Story posts from Lil Tjay’s main and supposed burner accounts, including crying-laughing emojis, a “hush” emoji, and a video captioned “Go slideeeeee” with laughing emojis, which some interpreted as mocking the shooting.[1] These posts, however, have not been independently verified and remain alleged, and Lil Tjay has dismissed the narrative that they tie him to the attack.[1] The tension surrounding the situation is heightened by Tjay’s ongoing issues with streamers Adin Ross and Cuffem, who are close to Konvy; that feud escalated after 6ix9ine, Adin Ross, and Cuffem dropped the diss track “BACON,” calling out several rappers, including Lil Tjay.[1]

The Bronx livestream shooting has intensified conversations about the intersection of rap, livestream culture, and real-world violence, as content creators and artists navigate public beefs that can spill beyond the internet. With law enforcement yet to announce any suspects or arrests and Lil Tjay firmly denying any involvement, the incident remains under scrutiny from both Hip-Hop fans and the streaming community, underscoring how quickly narratives can form—and potentially mislead—when fueled by social media.[1][3]
