Jidenna was born on May 4 in Wisconsin. Real name Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, he’s Nigerian on his father’s side and went to Stanford University. He signed to Janelle Monae’s Wonderland Records in 2015. His song “Classic Man” was a successful debut and Kendrick Lamar jumped on the remix.
In addition to working with Monae, his solo work has been featured on Luke Cage and Insecure. His album The Chief came out in 2017 and 85 to Africa is a blend of rap and afrobeat that dropped in 2019. He’s worked with Quavo and Mr. Eazi.
