Snoop Dogg has reacted to the debates surrounding the Super Bowl halftime show, set to take place next year, as he directs his attack on Lil Wayne, who criticizes Kendrick Lamar’s soon-to-be performance.

In the Drink Champs interview with Dr. Dre, Snoop during the talk was asked whether Kendrick should be controversial for that particular season of Super Bowl, the main argument given being that a host tradition is that the halftime artist should come from the city, of New Orleans.

Snoop countered, saying, “What we need to think about is that those n-ggas performing before JAY-z got hold of the Super Bowl.” According to him more doors have been opened for the black artist to perform in that prestigious event at present adding that, “If you are a great artist, then your time will come.”

Snoop also pointed out that he was not complaining when Dre called on him for the 2022 halftime show in L.A. while he was among featured artists that included Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent. “I was never crying about it or mad about it,” Snoop said, adding that he didn’t feel entitled to a spot.

He ended by boosting the support of hip-hop artists in the Super Bowl, stating, “You just should be proud that Hip Hop is able to be seen on that stage, for all of us, and not hate on the next man, but be happy.”
