‘I Crawled So The Streaming Community Could Walk,’ Says Tory

Tory Lanez believes he played a pivotal role in the current success of streaming platforms that have helped unknown artists rise to fame and given established celebrities a second chance at stardom. In a post on his Instagram Story from prison on Thursday (January 16), the rapper reflected on the impact of his groundbreaking Quarantine Radio show during the pandemic.

“I crawled so the streaming community could walk [happy tears emojis] #QuarantineRadio,” he wrote, sharing a clip from the show that gained massive popularity in 2020.

Quarantine Radio was launched by Tory Lanez in March 2020 as a way to entertain audiences during pandemic lockdowns. The show quickly gained traction, with notable moments like Drake joining an episode, helping Lanez break an Instagram Live record with over 237,000 viewers. The show’s success even caught the attention of Instagram’s CEO, who assisted in getting Quarantine Radio back online after it was temporarily suspended.

As the show grew, Lanez took the opportunity to partner with Amazon Music and The Dream Center in May 2020, launching the Tory Lanez Dream City Fund as a response to the overwhelming success of Quarantine Radio.
