J. Cole’s ‘The Fall Off’ album is coming
J. Cole published an essay with The Players Tribune, documenting his highs and lows of his ambition to rap, and also, his ambition to go to the NBA. Within this story, he writes about his long-awaited album The Fall Off was coming to fruition.
Tomorrow night, J. Cole will be releasing the first two singles of his album, The Fall Off: “The Climb Off” and “Lion King On Ice.” “The Climb Back is produced by J. Cole and “Lion King On Ice” is produced by T-Minus and JetsonMade.
On Cole’s last album, KOD, there’s a song titled “1985 (The Intro to “The Fall Off”). The album was actually supposed to come before KOD. For two years, fans have been awaiting the arrival of the album. Well now, we’re edging close to the release.
Excerpt from The Players Tribune:
For the next three months I would wake up in that old, familiar room, putting myself through morning writing drills before heading off to Electric Lady Studios with a short term plan to finish the 4 Your Eyez Only album before the arrival of my first child, and a long term plan of becoming the best rapper I could possibly be before hanging up my jersey, leaving nothing on the table when all was said and done. The seeds for The Fall Off were planted.
