Lecrae was the first rapper to win a Grammy for Best Gospel Album

On February 10th, 2013, at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, Christian Hip-Hop artist, Lecrae became the first rapper/hip-hop artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album after the release of his sixth studio album Gravity.

Lecrae released his 15-track album Gravity on September 4th, 2012. The album featured Big K.R.I.T. and many more artists. A couple of months after it would win the Best Gospel Album award marking the very first time a hip-hop artist won in that category.

The album was released under Reach Records and sold over 73,000 units in its first week.
