Yachty understands he’s in a different lane from Lil Baby’s
Lil Yachty broke into the hip hop scene in 2016 with a totally unique sound that had him stand out from his peers. He has maintained his uniqueness. In a recent interview with DJ Akademiks on Off The Record, Lil Boat explained that his distinctive style is the reason he can’t tour with his labelmate, Lil Baby.
“I’m not going in front of Lil Baby, bro,” Yachty began. “Motherfuckers gonna look at me crazy, ‘What the fuck n***a, get off that stage.’ I’m not going in front of that n***a at all… We are in such different lanes, if someone’s coming to see him, they are not tryna hear me. We are on two different ends of the spectrum.”
Yachty and Baby are signed under Quality Control and are both from Atlanta. Even though they can’t go on tour together, the two can for sure collaborate.
