Judge gives Megan Thee Stallion the green light to release “Butter Remix”

Megan Thee Stallion and her old label 1501 Certified Entertainment faced off in a court case following the label blocking the release of Korean boy band BTS’s “Butter Remix” that features the Texas rapper.

The hearing, which happened on Tuesday (August 24), resulted in the judge approving the release of the track.

Thee Stallion, real name Megan Pete, described the collaboration as a vital career factor in her petition against 1501 Certified Entertainment.

“If Pete is not allowed to release a new track this Friday on which she is the featured artist in a remix with BTS of the song called, ‘Butter,’ her music career will suffer irreparable damage, including a devastating impact to her relationships with her fans and with other recording artists in the music industry,” read part of a legal document seen by Variety

“Such irreparable injury to her personal goodwill and the silencing of her artistic expression in music cannot be compensated in the way of monetary damages. As such, Pete seeks emergency relief from this Court.”
