This will be the first video since 2003 from Gang Starr. Last month, Gang Starr returned after a 16-year hiatus with their single “Family and Loyalty” featuring J. Cole. Though the legendary member Guru, passed away in 2003, the single and video keeps his vision alive by featuring Guru’s teenage son, Keith Caism.
DJ Premier wrote a press release recently stating, “It was real important to me to have Guru’s son be a major focus of the video. Keith is starting to really understand the legacy his father left behind and the whole team is sharing so many stories with him”.
Though the album date has not been confirmed, DJ Premier released a teaser this past month for the final Gang Starr album. In the meantime, check out the video below.
