50 views modern rap as lacking intellectual depth
50 Cent reveals he has shunned rap for nearly the last ten years due to hip hop no longer being as stimulating intellectually as it used to be.
The G-Unit leader said during an interview with Earn Your Leisure that he’d have to lower his lyrical standards if he was to fit in the current rap game.
“If you listen to the music that’s out right now, I have to tap into my stupid. I have to tap into the stupid side of me to write the right thing when it comes time to write the music,” Fif’ said.
“This why I haven’t created as much content as I was creating in the past and I started going towards the film production and development of these projects. Because I can impact things in a bigger way through that.”
