Fif has made it clear he’s not a fan of Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic frontrunner in New York’s upcoming mayoral election — and he’s not holding back.
The rapper and business mogul took to Instagram to react to a clip from The Breakfast Club in which Mamdani outlined his ambitious economic reform plan, including a 2% tax increase for New Yorkers earning over $1 million annually and a corporate tax hike to match New Jersey’s 11.5% rate.
“Where did he come from? Whose friend is this?” 50 wrote. “I’m not feeling this plan, no. I will give him $258,750 and a first-class one-way ticket away from NY. I’m telling Trump what he said too!”
Mamdani, anticipating backlash, even name-checked the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ artist in the interview, saying:
“I know 50 Cent is listening… he tends to not like this tax policy, but this is about $20,000 a year.”
This isn’t 50’s first political outburst. He has previously criticized current Mayor Eric Adams, especially over his controversial proposal to distribute pre-paid debit cards to migrants, writing:
“WTF mayor Adams call my phone… maybe TRUMP is the answer.”
Although 50 once endorsed Donald Trump for economic reasons, he later walked back his support following public backlash. Still, his frustration with both local and national Democratic policies remains a recurring theme in his social media commentary.
