Aaliyah’s Legacy Celebrated Through Limited Edition Doll Inspired by ‘One in a Million’ Music Video
To commemorate what would have been Aaliyah’s 46th birthday, the official Barbie account unveiled a special edition doll honoring the late singer’s lasting impact on music and pop culture. The custom doll, part of the Aaliyah Music Series, reflects the Princess of R&B’s iconic style, drawing inspiration from her 1996 “One in a Million” music video. The doll captures Aaliyah’s memorable look, featuring a black faux leather ensemble, signature sunglasses, and her distinct swooped hairstyle.
The Barbie Design team collaborated with Aaliyah’s brother, Rashad Haughton, to ensure the doll faithfully represented her legacy. Though pre-sales have sold out, the doll will be restocked at Target starting January 26 for $55, and UK fans can purchase it through Amazon.
