A$AP Rocky is intended to head back to the big screen as the lead in Spike Lee’s forthcoming picture titled Highest 2 Lowest
In a December 9 interview with Deadline, Lee revealed that the film is a modern version of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 classic film High and Low. Besides Rocky, the movie will also star Denzel Washington, marking the fifth collaboration between him and Lee, and rising star Ice Spice.
Lee confirmed that Rocky plays the “main role” in the project, serving as a significant milestone in his career as a rapper-turned-actor. A24 and Apple Original Films distribute the film and initially plan on a theatrical release before streaming on Apple TV+. The film, Lee revealed at a lecture in October, was slated for a summer 2025 release.
Rocky is currently basking in glory for becoming a pioneer in fashion by having recently received at the 2024 Fashion Awards the most prestigious of all accolades, the Cultural Innovator Award, a prize that recognizes him for his influence on the fashion world through viral moments or style and cultural significance.
The film is eagerly awaited alongside the poster’s ongoing influence in music, film, and fashion.
