Drama is not proud of his decision to exclude Nicki from Gucci’s tape

DJ Drama has had longstanding relationships with many artists over his career years, including Nicki Minaj. Recently speaking Bootleg Kev, Drama reveled that he once removed Nicki’s verse on Gucci Mane’s 2008 Gangsta Grillz mixtape, The Movie. The “Red Ruby Sleezy” rapper was still in early days of her career.

“When he brought it to me, the first song on the tape, the first voice you heard on the tape was Nicki Minaj,” Drama remembered.

He continued, “Obviously, this is an early Nicki Minaj. And disrespectfully, I felt like we can’t have a Gangsta Grillz with me and Gucci, and the first voice you heard not be Gucci, so I removed her verse from that song. I feel terrible to this day.”

Drama later that year made up to Nicki Minaj by including her on Lil Wayne’s Gangsta Grillz tape, Dedication 3.
