Kendrick Lamar & SZA Make History With “Luther” and Record-Breaking Tour

Published August 26, 2025 by

“Luther” Breaks Chart Records as Grand National Tour Becomes Highest Grossing in Rap History

Kendrick Lamar has smashed yet another milestone, as his hit single “Luther” with SZA becomes the longest-running No. 1 in Hot Rap Songs chart history, spending an unprecedented 27 weeks at the top. The record-breaking streak surpasses his own previous high of 26 weeks with last year’s smash “Not Like Us.”

The track also enjoyed massive mainstream success, dominating the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 consecutive weeks, while Lamar’s GNX album has become a phenomenon in its own right — now crowned the longest-running No. 1 rap album in U.S. history with 22 weeks atop the charts, edging past Pop Smoke’s posthumous Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon (21 weeks).

Beyond the charts, Kendrick and SZA are rewriting the touring record books. Their Grand National tour has officially become the highest-grossing co-headlining rap tour of all time, raking in over $256 million from just 23 shows across North America. With an average of 48,000 fans per night, the tour has sold a staggering 1.1 million tickets.
