Nicki’s new album opens big
Nicki Minaj’s new album Pink Friday 2 is now sitting at the pinnacle of the Billboard 200 after it sold 228k equivalent album units in the opening week. 92k of this being a result of pure copies sold.
This marks the Queen of New York’s third studio release to top the charts, making her the female rapper with the most No. 1 albums and surpassing Foxy Brown who previously held the title.
The album also broke Nielsen’s record of the biggest week ever in vinyl sales by a female rap album after it sold 25k of them.
Other albums by Nicki to go No. 1 include the first installation Pink Friday, and its follow up, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up.
