Atlanta Rapper Sparks Fan Frenzy with New Music Previews and Streaming Ambitions
Young Thug has ignited speculation of a major collaboration with NBA YoungBoy, teasing fans on social media with a direct message to the Louisiana rapper. “YB, hit my phone, man,” Thug said in a video clip. “Somebody tell Top to call me. I need to ask him something.”
Fans immediately began theorizing that the two Southern rap heavyweights may be working on a new track, possibly for Thugger’s long-awaited album Uy Scuti, which he had previously promised would drop by the end of June.
Thugger recently gave fans a taste of what’s to come during his triumphant return to the stage at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival—his first live show since being released from jail. He previewed an unreleased song featuring Ken Carson and even brought out Travis Scott for a surprise set.
The moment was especially meaningful, as Thug was originally slated to perform at the 2022 edition of Summer Smash before his arrest on RICO charges.
Meanwhile, Thugger jokingly flirted with quitting rap to become a full-time streamer during a recent appearance on Adin Ross’ Kick stream. “I’m done rapping and gonna start streaming,” he joked, impressed by the laid-back lifestyle and hefty paychecks.
While Uy Scuti remains under wraps, one thing is clear—Young Thug isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
