Tjay says 50 checked on him following New Jersey shooting
Lil Tjay says 50 Cent called to offer him a word of advice after he was shot seven times in June 2022 in Edgewater, New Jersey. Speaking to Rolling Stone in a recent interview, Tjay revealed that 50 urged him to view the near-death situation from a positive standpoint.
“Every artist needs pain or something to feed off of. This right here, you shake this shit off,” Tjay recounted. “You got the length for greatness. You going to be bigger than ever.”
50 Cent himself narrowly escaped death in the early days of his career when he was shot multiple times in New York.
