Gucci Mane’s 1017 artist Big Scarr is dead at only 22. Although the cause of death is yet to be revealed, Gucci took to Instagram Thursday night (December 22) to mourn the Memphis native. “This hurt 😢 I’m a miss you @bigscarr,” La Flare wrote under a photo of Scarr.
Some hip-hop stakeholders have shared their condolences to the “Fantasy” rapper including Quality Control’s Pee, Jackboy, as well as fellow 1017 rapper BigWalkDog.
Scarr was set to accompany fellow Memphis rapper Key Glock on the Glockoma Tour in 2023.
Gucci Mane’s artist Ralo has been in jail since 2018 due to his marijuana trafficking case, but finally, he learns his fate. According to his Instagram page, the Judge has sentenced him to 8 years in federal prison.
But there still hope for the Atlanta rapper to come home soon. The IG post claims that the Judge credited Ralo with 4 years time served as well as 1.5 years for good time. If he completes his GED or RDAP Drug program, he might even be free in less than a year.
“The Judge sentenced Ralo to 8 years in Federal Prison, he was given over 4 years credit time served. The BOP has also credited him 1 & 1/2 year for good time,’’ read the caption of Ralo’s photo with large stacks of cash.
“He was recommended 1 year ankle monitor after the halfway house approve his home address; which will bring him home to us late next year, but our goal is for him to complete his GED or RDAP Drug program so we can get another year off his sentence. That will bring him home to us in less than a year. We need prayer.”
Gucci Mane entered a partnership with Atlantic Records, forming The New 1017 to sign upcoming rappers. Some of the rappers signed to 1017 include Pooh Shiesty, Big Scarr, Foogiano, Roboy and So Icy Girlz, a duo consisting of K Shiday and Enchanting.
Back in June, Gucci Mane suggested that his relationship with Atlantic Records was hostile, calling the label ‘polite racists’. About a month later, Guwop tweeted an apology as he formed The New 1017. “I’m not going independent but so respect those who go that route I apologize for my rude harsh language lately I’m a do better #1017/Atlantic.”

Gucci released his project Gucci Mane Presents: So Icy Summer in July. The tape served as an introduction to the new 1017 signees. They were featured throughout the project.
The Trap legend recently announced in a tweet that the So Icy Gang mixtape will drop on this Friday. “We dropping our mixtape this Friday,” he wrote.
It’s always refreshing to listen to a project full of new sounds. The only way hiphop has managed to stay relevant for over four decades is by the breeding of new talents in every other generation. Gucci Mane knows better on how to keep the game running, by giving young stars opportunities to shine. Are you looking forward to So Icy Gang mixtape?
