Beanie Sigel Confirms Dame Dash’s Claim About JAY-Z Writing for Memphis Bleek

Sigel admits Hov helped Bleek with lyrics, but clarifies not all were ghostwritten

Beanie Sigel has backed up Dame Dash’s recent controversial claim that JAY-Z secretly wrote some of Memphis Bleek’s lyrics during their time at Roc-A-Fella. In a new interview with The Art of Dialogue, Sigel responded affirmatively when asked if Jay helped Bleek with his rhymes, especially on tracks that featured the trio.

Sigel recited a verse from Bleek’s song “You, Me, Him and Her” and stated, “He always cheated for Bleek. He had to cheat for Bleek, especially if us three was on a record together.” According to Beans, Jay’s lyrical assistance was essential for Bleek to keep up with him and Sigel on the mic.

However, Sigel clarified that Jay didn’t write all of Bleek’s lyrics, just enough to help him compete with the more seasoned rappers. “He wrote enough though,” Sigel explained, adding that it was clear to everyone around them.

Dame Dash had earlier revealed that Jay’s ghostwriting helped Bleek stay relevant, but Bleek himself has denied the claims, joking about the situation on social media. The controversy continues as Jay-Z has yet to comment publicly.

Beanie Sigel Accuses JAY-Z of Overshadowing His Album Releases

Broad Street Bully Calls Out Hov Over Release Timing

Beanie Sigel has sparked controversy by claiming that JAY-Z intentionally overshadowed his album releases during their time at Roc-A-Fella Records.

In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, the Philadelphia rapper questioned why JAY-Z’s albums consistently dropped around the same time as his own.

“I used to have questions like, ‘Why every time my album dropped, Jay would drop right on top of me or right before me?’” Sigel said. “Back then it was physical copies, so if you had $20 saved up, nine times out of 10 you’re going to buy the JAY-Z album.”

Fans on social media, however, are questioning his claims. One user on X (formerly Twitter) analyzed the release dates of their albums and found little evidence to support Sigel’s assertion. The user pointed out that Jay-Z’s major releases often came months before or after Sigel’s albums.

“The facts show that this is a lie,” the fan argued, adding that Sigel should take accountability for his career trajectory instead of blaming JAY-Z.

Neither JAY-Z nor his team have responded to Sigel’s statements.

Beanie Sigel denies dissing Jay-Z on “I Go Off”

Sigel claims fans made the record appear like a diss

Although he admitted that the record was released when he was having issues with Roc-A-Fella at the time, he insisted it had nothing to do with Jay.

“That ‘I Go Off’ was just a record that I had,” Beanie explained to VladTV. “I ain’t have no hook on it. 50 liked it. I sent it to him, he knocked the hook off. It ain’t nothing about Jay-Z like n***as is talking about with that record. Even through the lyrics, ain’t nothing about Jay-Z in there, but 50 started talking crazy. Not crazy, but you know they got that weird relationship. They don’t f**k with each other, but then they f**k with each other.”

At the end of the record however, 50 did call out Hov by name. “Yeah! You changed man! You let the money change you, Jay,” Fif said on the track. “You used to be, from Marcy n***a! Now you a pass the Grey Poupon-a** n***a! You don’t want the shooters! I’ll take ’em! N***a, you feed the wolves and the wolves feed off you!”

“Kiss had that record. He was on that R. Kelly record,” Beanie explained. “He didn’t take a shot at me. Jay took a shot at them. ‘After the party it’s the hotel lobby … and after the original it’s probably this.’ That ‘Fiesta’ joint. Kiss and them was on that joint first.”

He added, “It was a shot because it was a couple joints that they was on first and Jay jumped on joints and then you hear little stuff. We all know who the best is Big ain’t here so it was a lot of dark storm.”
