Drake to Livestream With Kai Cenat During Kendrick Lamar’s Toronto Concert

6 God plans to unveil “Somebody Loves Me” challenge winners during rival’s show

As Kendrick Lamar prepares to take the stage in Toronto for the first time since his bitter lyrical war with Drake, the 6 God has revealed exactly how he plans to respond — and it’s all about timing.

Instead of attending or acknowledging Kendrick’s concert directly, Drake will join Kai Cenat for a livestream at 8 PM EST, the exact time Kendrick is set to perform at the Rogers Centre. The two will announce the 20 winners of their “Somebody Loves Me” music video challenge, each of whom will receive $15,000 to bring their creative treatments to life.

The announcement was confirmed by Cenat via Instagram Stories, where he wrote:

“We were blown away by the creativity… Tomorrow DRAKE & I gonna go through some of the submissions with you guys… and let ya’ll know which 20 ppl [are] getting money to bring their treatments to life!”

This marks Drake and Cenat’s first livestream together and appears to be a calculated move to draw online attention away from Kendrick’s long-awaited hometown performance — a strategic bit of counter-programming amid their ongoing feud.

Cenat has previously critiqued Drake’s music videos, notably calling the “Nokia” visual “not a banger,” and offering his own alternative directorial ideas live on stream.

The collaborative video for “Somebody Loves Me” will eventually feature fan-submitted scenes edited together — a crowd-sourced effort from one of Drake’s most emotionally vulnerable recent tracks.

Whether the livestream will succeed in drawing eyes away from Kendrick’s explosive “Not Like Us” performance remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: the Toronto turf war is still very much on.

Jagmeet Singh apologizes after being called a “goof” by Drake for attending rival’s concert

Drake has publicly called out Canadian politician Jagmeet Singh after the former New Democratic Party leader was spotted at Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Toronto — the rapper’s first appearance in Drake’s hometown since their highly publicized feud reignited in 2024.

In a direct message posted to Instagram Stories, Drake labeled Singh a “goof” for attending the show, sparking immediate backlash and a hasty apology from Singh.

“I went for SZA, not Kendrick,” Singh wrote in response. “I was born in this city. I love this city. But real talk, I get it, I shouldn’t have gone at all. OVO and Drake have lifted up this city… For me, it’ll always be Drake over Kendrick.”

Despite the apology, Drake unfollowed Singh on social media and has yet to publicly respond further.

Kendrick, joined by SZA on their Grand National Tour, performed two packed shows at the Rogers Centre, delivering his chart-topping Drake diss “Not Like Us” to massive crowd reactions both nights.

Meanwhile, Drake had planned to counter the concert with a Twitch livestream alongside Kai Cenat, tied to their “Somebody Loves Me” fan video challenge. However, the event was postponed at the last minute.

  • Lil Wayne’s Son Claims His Father Wrote “Most” of Drake’s Lyrics

Lil Wayne’s Son Claims His Father Wrote “Most” of Drake’s Lyrics

Novi Carter says Drake wouldn’t be where he is without Weezy

Lil Wayne’s son, Novi Carter, has sparked controversy after claiming his father ghostwrote “most” of Drake’s lyrics during an interview with YouTuber TrillMarty.

Novi didn’t mince words: “My dad wrote most of [Drake’s] shit. I mean, on God. Like, if it wasn’t for my pops, there wouldn’t be no Drake. I mean, there probably would be a Drake, but he wouldn’t be where he’s at, though.” He quickly added, “No disrespect to Drake. He hard.”

While the younger Carter didn’t name specific tracks allegedly written by Lil Wayne, his comments have stirred debate online about Drake’s songwriting credibility — a topic that has shadowed the Canadian rapper throughout his career.

Neither Lil Wayne nor Drake have addressed the claims, but both artists have consistently expressed admiration for each other. Drake has referred to Wayne as a mentor and idol, once saying, “I still get nervous speaking about this man… he’s still my idol.”

Wayne, for his part, has defended Drake publicly, even joking about the rapper’s critics: “He red, he light-skinned… that’s just American history.”

Whether Novi’s comments were exaggerated or not, they’ve reignited one of hip-hop’s oldest debates — who’s really writing the bars?

  • Drake Sparks Controversy by Appearing Onstage with Morgan Wallen in Houston

Drake Sparks Controversy by Appearing Onstage with Morgan Wallen in Houston

Drizzy also reveals millions in gambling losses after cold betting streak

Drake raised eyebrows over the weekend when he made an unexpected appearance alongside country singer Morgan Wallen during a concert in Houston. Though he didn’t perform, the Toronto rap icon joined Wallen and former MLB star Roger Clemens as they walked out on stage, with the moment later shared by Wallen in a backstage clip soundtracked by Drake’s “Under Ground Kings.”

The appearance was particularly controversial given Wallen’s past scandal involving his use of a racial slur, which was caught on camera in 2021. Despite a public apology, the incident initially sparked backlash but ultimately resulted in a surprising spike in his popularity. Drake, who has previously appeared on livestreams with other polarizing figures such as Adin Ross, is once again facing criticism for seemingly endorsing another white celebrity associated with racial controversy.

Meanwhile, the rapper is also making headlines for a staggering losing streak in online gambling. A recent Instagram Story showed that Drake wagered nearly $125 million over the past month, losing more than $8 million. One failed bet included $800,000 on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. Despite past wins — including a reported $40 million haul in early 2024 — Drake admitted, “Losses are so fried right now.”

  • Drake Renews Support for Tory Lanez Amid Controversy

Drake Renews Support for Tory Lanez Amid Controversy

Drizzy shares petition calling for Lanez’s pardon less than two years into sentence

Drake has once again voiced his support for fellow Canadian artist Tory Lanez, urging for his early release from prison. On his Instagram Stories, the Toronto rapper shared a petition aimed at persuading California Governor Gavin Newsom to pardon Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

Alongside the petition link, Drake added a message of support: “@torylanez come home soon.” This marks another public show of solidarity from Drake, who has consistently backed Lanez despite the high-profile conviction.

Last year, Drake posted a photo of Lanez on social media with the caption, “3 you,” believed to reference Lanez’s prison status.

Drake also appeared to reference the shooting in his 2022 track “Circo Loco,” drawing criticism for lyrics that many interpreted as mocking Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston rapper responded forcefully on social media, calling out male rappers for trivializing violence against women and using her trauma for attention.

Megan emphasized the backlash she has faced for speaking out, highlighting the ongoing tension in the hip-hop community over the case and its broader implications for women in the industry.

    Drake’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U Goes Platinum Just Three Months After Release

Breakout single “Nokia” and strong chart presence push project past one million units

Drake’s latest musical offering, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, has officially been certified platinum in the U.S., marking another commercial win for the Canadian superstar. Released on Valentine’s Day in collaboration with PartyNextDoor, the album has now sold over one million equivalent units in just twelve weeks.

Initially debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the album raised eyebrows with a relatively modest opening week — just under 250,000 units, one of the lowest first-week totals in Drake’s career. However, its longevity has proven formidable, as the project continues to hold strong within the Billboard top five months after release.

One of the standout tracks, “Nokia,” surged to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, narrowly missing the top spot thanks to Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s smash hit “Luther.”

Despite $ome $exy $ongs 4 U still enjoying success, Drake is wasting no time moving forward. Fellow OVO artist Smiley revealed that the rapper has already started work on his next project. “Even during the ‘Nokia’ video shoot, he was recording,” Smiley shared. “He’s in full creative mode — he even left a party early to get back to the studio.”

  • Kai Cenat Weighs in on Drake vs. Kendrick Battle, Declares Kendrick the Winner

Kai Cenat Weighs in on Drake vs. Kendrick Battle, Declares Kendrick the Winner

Streamer’s Take on the Infamous Diss Track War

Kai Cenat recently shared his thoughts on the infamous Drake vs Kendrick Lamar diss tracks battle last spring. Despite his close friendship with Drake, Cenat declared Kendrick Lamar the winner of the back-and-forth, calling it the “most fun experience” he’s had.

In an interview with Billboard, Cenat reflected on the excitement of the moment, noting how his stream numbers spiked from 60,000 to 100,000 viewers as the two superstars dropped diss tracks one after another. “It was good. I loved every second of it,” he said. “We got bangers right now that’s dropping back to back, and everybody’s talking about them. It was definitely fire.”

Though Cenat’s allegiance could be assumed to be with Drake, he didn’t hesitate to give Kendrick the edge in the battle. “Kendrick won that battle,” he admitted, adding, “It was a good week.”

This comes at an enjoyable time, as Cenat was recently named in a defamation lawsuit filed by Drake against his longtime record label, Universal Music Group. The lawsuit references Cenat’s video reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us,” claiming that UMG removed the copyright restrictions on the song to help it spread quickly. When Cenat discovered his name in the lawsuit, he initially panicked, thinking he was being sued. After a brief confusion, he realized the situation wasn’t as dire as it seemed. “Oh, I’m good! I’m alright!” he reassured his viewers, clarifying that he wasn’t being sued directly.

Cenat also dismissed rumors that streamers and YouTubers were paid by UMG to react to the diss tracks, saying, “N-ggas ain’t that weak!” He gushed over the success of his reactions, proudly noting that all his content was monetized.

Drake’s Beverly Hills Mansion: Now for Rent at $250K Per Month

After Struggling to Sell, Drake Shifts Tactics for His Lavish Property

Drake’s stunning Tuscan-style Beverly Hills mansion, previously listed for $75 million, has now hit the rental market at a jaw-dropping $250,000 per month. The property, which spans 24,260 square feet and sits on nearly 20 acres in the exclusive Benedict Canyon, has been a symbol of luxury. The mansion boasts 10 bedrooms, 22 bathrooms, and breathtaking views of the ocean. With features like mature olive trees and sprawling lawns, it’s clear why the property caught the attention of the Canadian rapper when he bought it from British rock star Robbie Williams and his wife, Ayda Field, several years ago.

Despite its grandeur, Drake has struggled to sell the mansion. After a failed attempt to sell it for $75 million, he raised the price to $88 million before pulling it off the market entirely. Now, he’s opting to rent it out for a hefty six-figure price tag, with the help of top real estate agents Branden and Rayni Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates and Marc Bretter of Maywood Property Group.

The rental price is certainly eye-popping, leading many to question whether anyone other than the ultra-wealthy will be willing to take on such a steep monthly payment.
