    Odd Future rapper Earl Sweatshirt aka Thebe Neruda Kgositsile was born in Chicago in 1994. He started rapping in 2008 and became a member of Tyler, the Creator’s crew. He was on Frank Ocean’s Channel ORANGE. His father’s a famous South African poet and activist and his mother is an accomplished professor at UCLA.

    A short time after his first release, he was sent to Samoa by his mother. Upon his return, his fans were eager for new music and he continued to release records with a noted innovative style in the following years on Columbia up until 2019.

    While known under the moniker Sly Tendencies, Earl released his first mixtape titled Kitchen Cutlery. The project was released 2009 and had 11 songs on it. The project leaked in 2011 and featured songs from Earl’s myspace between 2007-2009.
