Elec explains how Ye allegedly took inspiration from him on his 2013 record
Jay Electronica reveals some interesting information about Kanye West’s “Bound 2,” if he is to be believed. Taking to X/Twitter, the rapper alleged that Ye was inspired by his track “FatbellyBella” to make the record that appeared on his 2013 album, Yeezus.
“So when I was living in London, Ye and Virgil came to my house and stayed for a few days,” Elec explained, adding, “and I played them FatbellyBella aka Life on Mars and they eventually used that same melody line and sample for Bound 2. Go listen.”
Both songs include a sample from Wee’s 1977 track, “Aeroplane (Reprise).”
Jay Electronica is getting ready to gift his fans with a new album. On Friday, Hit-Boy shared an Instagram post where Electronica hit the comments urging the Grammy-winning producer not to post his record with Westside Gunn on the feeds.
“Ps, don’t post a snippet of the record you produced for me and @westsidegunn for the intro to my album. (Unless you really want to) (I don’t care if you upload the whole thing as long as it’s on your stories and it disappear in 24 hours),” Electronica’s comment read.
Despite Electronica’s request, Hit-Boy later shared a snippet of the track titled “Best Wishes.” “Best Wishes by @jayelectronica and @westsidegunn produced by me. Elec just text me and said this his intro for the new album [eyes emoji],” Hit-Boy wrote.
Curren$y and Jay Electronica could be working on a collab album and a movie. Curren$y was recently interacting with his fans on Instagram live when Electronica hopped in the comments to bring up the album and movie they’re supposedly working on.
“I’m still in Mexico. We still got a album to record and a movie to shoot on levee,” Electronica wrote.
Curren$y captured the screenshot of his fellow New Orleans native’s comment and shared it on the IG feed with a cap emoji followed by a couple of question marks.

Timothy Elpadaro Thedford (born September 19th, 1976), known professionally as Jay Electronica, is an American rapper and record producer from New Orleans. Neither Jay-Z or Jay Electronica mention Kobe or Gianna in the song but Jay-Z starts the song with lyrics morning a lost one rapping, “Uh, I got numbers on my phone that’ll never ring again / ‘Cause Allah done sent them home, and they’ll never, uh.” On his verse, Jay Electronica mourns the death of his mother rapping, “As I contemplate creation, the salt that heals my wounds / pour out my eyes just like libations / I can’t stop my mind from racing, I got numbers on my phone Pictures on my phone / The day my mama died, I scrolled her texts all day long The physical returns but the connection still stay strong.”
