Kid Cudi Speaks Out After Stalker Breaks Into His Home: ‘This Was Not Funny’

Cudi Opens Up About Stalker Fearing for His Safety Following Break-In

Kid Cudi has opened up about a disturbing incident involving a stalker who broke into his home during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this month. While rumors circulated that the intruder was homeless, the rapper clarified that the situation was far more alarming.

Taking to social media, Cudi explained, “The person that broke into my house was a crazed fan that has been stalking me for years without me knowing.” He detailed that the man had attended his shows both in the U.S. and overseas and had even driven across the country intending to speak to him about collaborations and ideas.

“This was an unhinged 34-year-old man,” Cudi added. “Not homeless.” He expressed his concerns over violating his privacy and said he now felt unsafe. The intruder reportedly helped himself to food, showered, and went through personal belongings while thinking he would converse with the rapper.

Cudi clarified that he’s taking extra precautions for his safety moving forward. “I’m gonna take some serious security measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” he stated while addressing the online reactions that made light of the situation. “This is not okay,” he emphasized.

Authorities arrested the stalker for felony burglary and theft of utilities after security cameras caught the man inside Cudi’s home on January 15.

Cudi concluded, saying, “If I’m standoffish when u see me in public now, this is why.”

Kid Cudi Announces Break from Social Media, Prioritizing Art Over Online Presence

Kid Cudi announced he’s scaling back his social media use, including a break from X

Kid Cudi is looking to scale down his social media presence. On December 19, the rapper posted on X about taking a break from this platform and decreasing his usage of other social media sites.

“I’m done with Twitter for the most part,” Cudi stated in his message before explaining that you can still see him through Instagram, only that it will be less personal. “I’ll keep y’all posted through my stories, but not so much through myself. Team’s got that covered in terms of anything new about projects or other things that I’m working on,” he added.

Then Cudi elaborated on the reasons behind his step, which he says is because he is tired of all the online madness. “I can see a lot of nonsense here and life tends to get way better once a person disconnects,” he wrote. He further said that he feels he has made himself too accessible to the public and will henceforth primarily communicate through music and creative work. Arguably, “Now, you’ll hear from me through my art, I’m saying all of this, love you all, it’s been real, Goodbye.”

Such a move marks a conscious effort by Cudi to come back into the fold of space and prioritize his artistic output instead of just holding conversations on something of social media but leaving the noise behind.

Cudi is looking forward to heal before his tour

Kid Cudi broke his foot while trying to jump offstage during his performance at Coachella past weekend. He later shared a clip on X jokingly blaming his age for the injury.

“Um, yeah. Shit got real yesterday,” Cudi explained. “This is what happens when a 40-year-old man tries to prance around off stage like he’s 26, like he used to do back in the day. I learned a valuable lesson — no more prancing around and jumping off stages.

“I’m hoping that I’ll be healed up in time for tour. That’s the plan. I don’t wanna let you guys down, so yeah, that’s what we’re aiming for. Not cancelling anything just yet.

He added, “Just gonna wait and see how things go. But I’m okay; little sore. Yesterday was a lot of pain, but I’m doing better now. I have a little temporary cast on and I gotta go get a real cast in a little bit. Apparently, I broke something in my heel.

“This is a major setback. But don’t worry, I’ma bounce back. I love y’all, all day! Engage the rage, but not at 40.”

Doe Boy on Kid Cudi’s relationship with Cleveland – ‘He was never there’

Doe Boy says Cudi is never willing to ‘connect with the city’

Doe Boy recently sat for a dialogue with Bootleg Kev where he shared a blunt opinion about fellow Cleveland rapper Kid Cudi’s relationship with their hometown.

“I don’t know that n-gga. Nobody I know in the city know that n-gga,” the Oh Really rapper said. “I can’t tell you nothing about him. I mean, I know a couple of his songs and that is somebody that I would like to fuck with.

“But he was never there, he never wanted to connect with the city. At the end of the day, that’s cool because that’s your business and you ain’t obligated to do nothing.”

When asked if he’d get in the booth with Cudi, he added, “I don’t know… I’d have to ask somebody what they think about that.” He continued, “I have wanted to work with him before, but when it gets to a certain point I’m like, ‘Alright.’”

Kid Cudi phones Lupe Fiasco to squash their beef – ‘I apologized and he accepted it’

    Cudi and Lupe end hostilities

Kid Cudi and Lupe Fiasco are no longer at odds. According to Cudi, he had a phone call with the Chicago rapper where he atoned for the mistakes on his end that created a rift between them.

“Just talked to Lupe,” Cudi wrote on X/Twitter Saturday (January 20). “Had a great talk. I know I was wrong and told him I shouldnt have did that fuck shit I did. I called myself lookin out for the fans in the moment, but in reality I was just hating. I apologized and he accepted it. Which I appreciated foreal. I understand the anger and vitriol he had for me all these years, and I wasnt mature enough to step up and just have a conversation and admit I was wrong.

“We as black men need to be united. He always had love for me. Always supported me. I shouldnt had did him like that. I wanna thank my guy IBN for settin the call up, and u, the fans, for being real w me and urging us to speak. We are good now, brand new journey.”

Lupe later responded to Cudi with an acceptance of the truce. “Sincerely appreciate it my guy… [prayer-hand emoji] …peace & blessings…” he wrote.

The Cleveland rapper had attempted to reach Lupe via a series of posts earlier this week, which the latter said were “not enough.”

The two artists started feuding in 2014 when Lupe revealed that he was offering “personalized” verses for $500, before Cudi flamed him for “swindling” his fans, and their relationship soured ever since.
