Lizzo seemingly responds to Kanye West’s losing weight remarks

Lizzo appears to address Kanye West

Lizzo could be clapping back at Kanye West for the remarks he made on Tucker Carlson Tonight last week about losing weight while using Lizzo for an example.

“Lizzo works with my trainer, a friend of mine,” Ye said. “When Lizzo loses ten pounds and announces it, the bots — that’s a term for telemarketers on the internet — the bots, they attack her because the media wants to put out a perception that being overweight is the new goal when it’s actually unhealthy.”

During her performance in Toronto Friday (October 7), Lizzo said, “I feel like everybody in America got my motherf*cking name in their motherf*cking mouth for no motherf*cking reason.”

She added, “I’m minding my fat Black beautiful business,”

Lizzo disclaims targeting comedian Aries Spears in her 2022 MTV’s VMA speech

Lizzo says she was addressing everybody going against her

Grammy-winning singer Lizzo fired off a tweet on Monday (August 29) clarifying that she wasn’t talking about comedian Aries Spears in her raged 2022 MTV’s VMA speech.

“Lemme make one thing VERY clear—I wasn’t addressing anybody in the my speech last night…I was addressing EVERYBODY ” she wrote.

During her VMA speech at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, on Sunday night (August 29), the “2 Be Loved” songstress used the platform to blast her negative critics, and many assumed she was targeting Spears.

“[Your vote] means everything to make a change in this country,” she stated. “So, remember when you’re voting for your favorite artists, vote to change some of these laws that are oppressing us. Now, to the bitches that got something to say about me in the press … I’m not gonna say nothing! Why don’t you clap back? Because bitch, I’m winning.”

Spears faced criticism after a clip surfaced on August 26 of the comedian saying he “can’t get past the fact that she(Lizzo) looks like the shit emoji.”

‘’I’m pledging $500k from my upcoming tour to Planned Parenthood and Abortion Rights,’’ Lizzo wrote on social media. ‘’Live Nation agreed to match— to make it 1 MILLION dollars.’’ She added, ‘’We are going to give proceeds to @AbortionFunds as well!’’

  • Lizzo beats Cardi B and Lauryn Hill‘s Billboard Hot 100 Record

Lizzo beats Cardi B and Lauryn Hill‘s Billboard Hot 100 Record

As Lizzo’s stardom continues to rise, the Detroit native has now broken a major Billboard record. According to a tweet from Billboard, “Truth Hurts” has become the longest-reigning No. 1 single performed by a female rapper without any features in the chart’s history.

“Truth Hurts” surpasses Cardi B’s three-week reign with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” in October of 2017 and Lauryn Hill’s two-week run in 1998 with “Doo Wop (That Thing)”.

Lizzo celebrated the triumphant victory on Instagam. See her post below:

  • Lizzo finally got her first number one song on Billboard this week with ‘Truth Hurts’

Lizzo finally got her first number one song on Billboard this week with ‘Truth Hurts’

We freaken did it, guys! Lizzo finally has a number one track. It has been a very long time coming and I am really happy for Lizzo, who has been grinding for so many years to get to this point. Recently, she stated that a few years ago she almost quit making music, because she felt that she was not getting the recognition that she deserves. I have loved Lizzo for years and I agree that she should have been getting this recognition a long time ago. Along with ‘Truth Hurts’ reaching number one, Lizzo has also seen two other songs of hers rise the Billboard charts this week, with ‘Good as Hell’ reaching #52 and ‘Juice’ reaching #82. Although ‘Good as Hell’ is from a previous album, ‘Juice’ and ‘Truth Hurts’ are on her record Cuz I Love You, which is easily one of my favorite albums to come out this year. Check out the music video for ‘Truth Hurts’ and listen to the entirety Cuz I Love You below!

  • The Charts: Drake & Lil Nas X Still On Top

The Charts: Drake & Lil Nas X Still On Top

    • Drake scored his ninth #1 album with Care Package, and while it should be no surprise that a Drake project debuts on top, what is surprising is that he accomplished this with a collection of old songs. Care Package consists of 17 songs that have been previously released, but not available on streaming services until now. Many spent years racking up millions of plays on SoundCloud, but found new life with their inclusion on Care Package. The fact that a collection of old song can sell 110,000 albums in the first week is a testament to Drake, who clearly holds the title as the most successful artist in the streaming era.
    • Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road” extended its record-setting run at #1 on the Hot 100 charts to 19 weeks. At this point, even Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus believe the end should be near. Billy Ray tweeted earlier this week that it is “someone else’s turn now,” and Lil Nas X announced he will be performing his second single, “Panini,” at the VMAs.
    • Lil Durk also has a successful week, with his new project Love Songs 4 The Streets 2 debuting at #4 and selling just over 42,000 albums. The Chicago artist has evolved over the years, and his numbers show the fans appreciate his growth. He even joked that he has the biggest debut of last week because “Drake don’t count that’s Drake.”
    • I feel obligated to mention Lizzo‘s song “Truth Hurts” remained at #4 on the Hot 100, and her album Cuz I Love You is #8 on Billboard 200. She made headlines earlier this week when she was upset at those who do not consider her a rapper, dragging other artists into a since-deleted Twitter rant.
    • Chris Brown’s Indigo remained at #5, spending its 6th week in the Top 10 after debuting at #1 in July. The album is propelled by the success of “No Guidance,” which held at #6 on the Hot 100.
    • NF’s The Search and Chance the Rapper‘s The Big Day, which were #1 and #2, respectively, on last week’s chart, both stayed in the top 10. NF finds himself at #6 and Chance sits at #9.
    • Lil Tecca’s “Ransom” remained in the top 10, and with the release of a remix featuring Juice WRLD, is hoping to climb in next week’s charts.
    • Speaking of next week’s charts, they will feature new albums from Rick Ross and Trippie Redd. Ross’ Port of Miami 2 is projected to sell around 80,000 albums, while Trippie’s ! is on pace for 45,000 albums.
