Quavo is back with another brand new single, “Greatness,” that sees him paying tribute to his late nephew, Takeoff, as well as the Migos family as a whole. The track comes with visuals directed by Chris Dvon, that features old Takeoff’s cameos.
Quavo is confident about the future of Unc. & Nephew duo
The hip-hop community is still processing Atlanta trio Migos’ split, which saw Offset going his separate way leaving Quavo and Takeoff as a duo. Apparently, possibilities are very low that the group will ever reunite.
Quavo and Takeoff pulled up on Revolt’s Drink Champs last week where they talked about their future as a group. During the interview, N.O.R.E asked if “there will be a Migos reunion eventually,” to which Quavo replied, “well, no. I don’t think so.”
“Right now I believe in the duo, you know what I’m saying?” He added. “Like you just said, you play the game by loyalty. You just stand on loyalty. Like we said, like I said in songs and everything, we stand on motherf**king loyalty. This is about us and shit. When things ain’t right sometimes you gotta goddamn move on, you know what I’m saying? When ego sometimes, when everything getting in the way. Sometimes you gotta sit back and watch what’s going on, just see what’s wrong.”
Quavo says he does not see a Migos reunion happening. He points to “loyalty” being the reason the group broke up 👀😳 pic.twitter.com/xlgxOqV3cR
Quavo also weighed in on Offset filling a lawsuit against Quality Control, saying he wouldn’t do the same since the label founders Pee and Couch changed his life, and Takeoff immediately backed him.
“At the end of the day, n*ggas got problems that they need to fix. You still ain’t gotta do no lawsuits you know. Pee and Couch they changed my life,” Quay said before Takeoff reinstated, “fasho fasho, I love em to death.”
Lil Baby says he doesn’t like to “comment on that type of stuff”
There have been rumors over the past couple of months that Lil Baby has been having issues with Migos. Some have speculated that Baby had something to do with the division between Offset, Migos and QC. It was also alleged that Offset got into a scuffle with 4PF associates. The rapper was even rumored to be seeing Saweetie, something that he denied.
During a recent conversation on Posted on the Corner, the “Stand On It” rapper was asked if he’s beefing with Migos, to which he simply replied, “hell no.”
“I don’t even wanna comment on that type [of] stuff,” he continued. After the host insisted on getting more explanation from the 27-year old, he added, “You comment on something, it just make it bigger.”
“First of all, I really don’t see sh*t on the internet,” the 4PF leader went on. “Like, people send me sh*t, I don’t wanna comment, then I be… That’s just gon’ make it [bigger]. They know I don’t got nothin’ goin’ on with them.”
Quavo and Takeoff plan to move on without Offset “till time tell”
Atlanta trio Migos hasn’t been rolling together as a whole since May. Quavo and Takeoff have been releasing music as a duo dubbed Unc & Nephew while Offset has embarked on his solo career with both parties having their respective albums in the works.
Quavo and Takeoff sat for an interview on Revolt’s Big Facts podcast on Monday (October 3) where they opened up about separating with Offset. “We want to see our career as a duo,” Quavo said. “Because we came from a loyal family thats supposed to work together. And sometime when sh**t don’t work out, its not meant to be.”
Takeoff added, “We don’t know all the answers. God know. We pray a lot so only time will tell. Aint nothing got change.” Quavo later chimed in sharing, “We stand on loyalty. And sometimes that sh** ain’t displayed. Right now we gon’ be the duo till time tell.”
For a couple of months now Atlanta trio Migos has been facing allegations that they’ve parted ways, with Quavo & Takeoff releasing music together and Offset dropping solo records.
Promoting his new album God Did that featured Quavo & Take without Set, Khaled recently sat for a chat with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe where he spoke about the group’s rumored break up.
“I mean those are all my brothers, all three of them are my brothers,” he stated. “And from their big brother, we want to see them together no matter what. Nobody says they not together, so I’m not going to be one of those guys that’s going to.”
He added: “You asking me, I’m always going to be like, ‘Those are brothers, and it’s our job to make sure that they continue to be brothers,’ but obviously they got their thing.
“I don’t know, but I could tell you this, that muthafuckin’ Takeoff and Quavo on this album, called ‘Party All the Time’ … that muthafucka gon’ go!”
Kanye’s second installment is stacked with features
Last night (Feb. 23), Kanye West premiered his Donda 2 album in front of a packed Loandepot Park in Florida. Yet again, Ye displayed his stage art, production and brought out some heavy hitters, too.
Pusha T, Migos, Rich The Kid, and more joined in on the live event to perform. We were also able to catch the many features that will be on the album.
The Las Vegas Limo driver is suing Quavo,Migos’ Tour, and hotel
A Las Vegas Limousine driver is suing Quavo for allegedly attacking him on the night of July 3 while transporting Migos and their entourage from a club to Virgin Hotel, TMZ reports. According to the lawsuit, the driver was beaten by around five passengers including Quavo for forgetting one of their crew members in the club.
Quavo isn’t the only one facing the suit. The driver is also going after Migos Tour and Virgin Hotel as he claims that their staff personnel including security guards watched while he was “repeatedly kicked and punched” before fleeing for safety. He also says that he tried talking them out of the aggression but told him to “shut the f*** up” before someone tossed a bottle towards him.
The driver says he’s still suffering from physical and mental injuries as well as disfigurement. He’s suing the three parties for unidentified damages.
It’s been around a month since Migos released their fourth studio albumCulture III, and they continue to drop videos for tracks from the project. On Wednesday (July 21), the trio shared the video of their hard-hitting “Roadrunner.”
Offset handles the chorus and the first verse, while Quavo and Takeoff spit on the second and the last verse respectively.
Culture III dropped last month and debuted at number two on Billboard 200, selling 130 000 album-equivalent units. The project accumulated 144 million streams and sold 22 000 pure album copies. The Atlanta trio was contending for the number one spot with Polo G, who dropped his album Hall of Fame the same week and debuted at #1 with 143 000 album-equivalent units sold.
