Polo G Eyes Streaming Career Amid Music Industry Struggles

Capalot Hints at Leaving the Mic for the Mouse

Polo G, the Chicago rapper behind the chart-topping hit “Rapstar,” is considering a surprising career shift. Despite his success in the rap game, the artist took to Instagram Stories on January 21 to suggest he may transition to full-time streaming.

“I wanna be a streamer one day too,” Polo G wrote in a post, adding, “I heard they pay better than rap.” This revelation left fans stunned, as the rapper has cemented himself as a major force in hip-hop with a double-platinum debut album and multiple Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Polo G’s career has faced challenges in recent years. His 2021 album Hall of Fame was a commercial success, but its 2024 follow-up, Hood Poet, lacked a standout hit. The rapper himself acknowledged the impact of his three-year hiatus, admitting in an April 2024 interview that it affected him mentally.

Polo G has already dipped his toes into the streaming world, having appeared on Adin Ross’s popular streams. With artists like Logic making similar career moves, it remains to be seen if Polo will make the jump permanently. Either way, his next chapter will be one to watch.
