Tyga makes it clear on who he thinks is the best female rapper in all generations. On Wednesday (March 29), Tyga declared on Twitter that Nicki Minaj is the greatest among female Hip Hop rappers in history.
“Nicki is the best female rapper of all time no one comes close!” he wrote. “World play, punchlines, delivery, pockets, beat selection, creativity. Inflictions,” the “Taste” rapper wrote.

Tyga and Nicki have come a long way. The two began their careers as signees of Lil Wayne’s Young Money records under the umbrella of Cash Money.

Tyga recently had a chat on Hotboxing With Mike Tyson where he recounted locking in with the late Pop Smoke. At first, he explained how an unnamed artist had him removed from a song he did with Pop because he was on it too. He then explained how he ended up on “West Coast Shit” and revealed that he missed on “Enjoy Yourself” because Pop died before they could finish the record.
“We had did two records before he passed and then one of them – it was a conflict on it so I was like, ‘It’s cool, take me off of it. I ain’t tripping.’ Somebody else didn’t want me on the song right … another artist,” Tyga explained. “So I was like, ‘It’s cool. I ain’t tripping. Whatever, let’s just do something else.’ And he was cool like that.”
He added, “And we did another song and then we finished it, but we didn’t finish the final song because he had passed right before the album came out. But he had text me, like, ‘Yo I wanna put a Latin artist on, a female artist. Who do you think?’ And I was like that we should put Karol G on it, because at the time I was like, ‘Karol G’s poppin. Let’s put her on it!’ So we end up putting her on it for that album.
“And then I did another song with him and Quavo that they did that I hopped on later,” he continued, “And then the record ‘Sunshine’ was a song that he did. My boy used to do all his A&R stuff, so he did a record for him and then he had the verse and we just put him on there and it just made sense.”
Drake recorded his verse on “The Motto” featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga in Las Vegas in one take.
During an interview on R.O.A.D. PODCAST, Bay Area DJ, DJ Franzen revealed in 2011, he picked the T-Minus produced beat for Drake‘s “The Motto” after being asked to use his studio to record a verse for Rick Ross which ended up being “Diced Pineapples.” “I picked the beat out for him”, Franzen says. He details the story and later says, “I shit you not, man, he recorded that song in one take. That song is in one take.”
DJ Franzen even got a shoutout on the song— “Me, Franny, Mally Mal at the cribo“.
During a 2017 interview with Genius, T-Minus revealed he produced the song in 30-45 minutes. “It was nearing the end ofTake Care, the making of the album. When Drake had contacted me he said he wanted something up-tempo and something simple. So it was a really last minute process. And I put together something really simple. It took me maybe like 30-45 minutes to make the beat. Sent it to him. He ended up writing the record, recording it. The day after, he said the song was already done.” – T-Minus says.

Tyga’s Well Done mixtape series is as essential as his albums when it comes to the discussion of his discography. A little over 10 years ago, Tyga would begin the saga and prove that he can rap his ass off. Rapping over other people’s beats and a few Lex Luger exclusives, Tyga found a pocket in the mixtape game — that for some — was a great time piece.
