“I was in a dark-ass place when I made that album. My album wasn’t even supposed to sound like that. I started recording that album right around the time I got shot.

“I was just going through all that shit. And then I fell out with the homies,” he continued. “N-gga, I was in a dark-ass place. I had my newborn daughter but it was just dark. I was making shit that I didn’t even wanna… I was trying to be on some other shit but it wasn’t there. So I had to do the dark shit.”

Two singles off the project had already been released; “Perfect Timing” with singer Blxst and “Brompton to Oark Park.” The cover art for the tape pays tribute to the late DMX, as it is a recreation of one poster image for Belly. Along with the project, Mozzy and YG also shared the music video for “Gangsta.”

The two MCs previously linked up on “Too Brazy” and “Thug’s Mansion.” With a fair share of success, the two tracks proved Mozzy and YG’s chemistry in the studio.

The project follows YG’s My Life 4Hunnid released last year, and Mozzy’s Occupational Hazard tape and his studio album Beyond Bulletproof from 2020 as well.
