    Gambino shuts down world tour plans

    Childish Gambino has had to disappoint many fans, as he has announced that his planned New World Tour is no longer on.

    The actor and musician, known for his incredible skills in different fields, announced the news via post on X on Friday, October 4th. He had not taken to the stage since September 7 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and after that, he had called off the North American leg of his tour to take care of his health.

    On Friday, Gambino offered more clarification about the tour and revealed that the date had been changed from a postponement to a cancellation.

    “After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent,” Gambino explained. “After being assesed [sic], it became clear i would not perform that night, and after more tests, i could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked. As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal.”

    “My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously,” he continued. “With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the UK and European dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

    “I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support.”

    Childish Gambino dropped off his new album Atavista last week and announced that he’ll be touring in North America, Europe and Oceania come summer.

    The 58-date pilgrimage will begin on August 11 in Oklahoma City and make stops in cities like Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

    After the North American trek ends on October 3, the rapper will embark on European cities like Milan, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, London and others from October 31 to December 5. He’ll later conclude the tour across Australia and New Zealand in five days.

    Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” plagiarism accuser Kidd Wes returns to court to further challenge court’s 2023 decision to dismiss the suit.

    According to Courthouse News, Kidd Wes only registered the copyrights to the lyrics of his 2016 track “Made In America,” but failed to register copyrights to the composition of the record. However, his lawyers call the mistake an “administrative error.”

    Gambino emerges triumphant in plagiarism lawsuit

    Rapper Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino wins the day in the lawsuit involving his 2018 hit record, “This is America,” according to Allhiphop. Gambino was sued by Emelike Nwosuocha, also known as Kidd Wes, who claimed that the rapper had copied the flow of his song “Made In America.” The lawsuit also went after Roc Nation and Young Thug.

    Wes’ suit claimed that Gambino’s record “unmistakably substantially similar, if not practically identical.”

    However, a judge concluded that Wes didn’t properly register the song’s copyrights with United States Library of Congress thus overturned the suit.

    The last time Donald Glover released an album was in 2020, titled 3. 15. 20. The project boasted features from Ariana Grande, Kadhja Bonet, 21 Savage and Ink. Released by RCA, the body of work received production treatment from Donald himself, as well as DJ Dahi, Ludwig Göransson, Chukwudi Hodge, Kurtis McKenzie, and James Francies, Jr.
