Jeezy’s Ex-Wife Jeannie Mai Calls Cops on him After Dispute over Personal Belongings

The former couple clashes outside the rapper’s Atlanta home over court-ordered possession pickup

Jeannie Mai reportedly called the police after a heated dispute with her ex-husband, rapper Jeezy, outside his Atlanta home last month. As per a court order, Mai had arrived to collect her belongings but was denied access by Jeezy’s house manager.

The Thug Motivation MC had placed Mai’s possessions in several boxes, and a judge had ruled that she had 21 days to retrieve them. However, Jeezy requested that the judge modify the order, citing safety concerns about Mai entering his home. His lawyer claimed he feared Mai might plant surveillance devices or cameras in the house.

Mai insisted that she had informed Jeezy of her planned visit on December 9 without objection. Upon arrival, she was blocked from accessing the garage where her belongings were stored. In response, Mai called the Atlanta Police Department, which arrived to file a report regarding the violation of the court order.

Mai’s legal team also alleged that the house manager, under Jeezy’s direction, demanded a nondisclosure agreement from anyone attempting to retrieve the items despite no such provision being included in the court order. Additionally, Mai claimed that some of her belongings were damaged, including broken awards and soaked boxes.

This dispute comes amid ongoing tensions following the couple’s divorce, which was finalized last summer.

Jeezy had to quit smoking for a decade after the incident

Jeezy once had a terrible experience after smoking weed he later suspected to have been laced with cocaine. During a recent conversation on Dope As Usual podcast, the rapper recalled calling up a friend for some weed, which he later smoked while “riding around” while “listening to 2Pac.”

The rapper explained that he felt “most paranoid” and was later hospitalized. He suspected his friend had mixed the weed with some coke although he has never been sure. “So what we would do when we cut up the rocks is we would put them in a bag and we’d call it shake, it would be like the crumbs,” Jeezy remembered. “She was like, ‘Yo, cuz. Let me get the crumbs.’ I’m like, ‘Alright, cool, whatever.’ So I give her the crumbs. We hanging out that night and I’m like, ‘Man, I want some weed.’ And she says, ‘Shit, your cuz got some!’ So I called her, I was like, ‘Yo let me get some weed.’”

After being hospitalized, Jeezy stopped smoking for 10 years. “I’m sitting there and when they got me back around I said, ‘Yo, do you think she put those crumbs in the weed to make it more potent?’” he added. “I still didn’t get the truth out of her, but I stopped smoking for like 10 years after that. … I was more afraid ’cause a lot of my friends, we started off hustling and a few of ’em started smoking crack and by this time I’m knee deep in it.”

Jeezy talks making peace with Freddie Gibbs, says their feud is his “biggest regret”

Jeezy is glad he’s now at good terms with Freddie Gibbs

Jeezy and Freddie Gibbs have at long last mended their relationship after a decade of being at each other’s left side. Gibbs first opened up by squashing the beef when he paid homage to Jeezy on his new album, $ouls $old $eparately, released last month. He later confirmed their reunion in an interview.

During a recent stop by Ebro in the Morning, Jeezy explained how important it was for him to sort their issues out with Gibbs.

“I knew he was going to be a star with or without me,” the Snowman said.

“I’m really intentional about making sure that I reconnect with a lot of people,” he added. “Not on no Kumbaya — but just like ‘I had love for you,’ and if it was my wrongdoing or me reacting to what you did to me… we had a miscommunication or somebody was talking through somebody else, and the word got to me. That happened before where people think you ain’t keeping your word, but you talking to somebody else, you got my line hit me directly.”

He continued, “It’s just like my biggest regret and still will be how I nourished my relationships in the beginning — because I had no idea that 10 years later, that would affect me.”

Jeezy says he doesn’t care about street cred anymore

Jeezy moved on from street life

Jeezy is known for his deep musical connection and representation of the streets, but growth has shown him to leave that life behind. During an interview on The Breakfast Club October 19, Charlamagne Tha God asked the rapper about the first time he decided to change his life.

“I really think that when you start walking in those rooms, and you trying to do business, nobody really care about what you done on the streets, and then as a man you shouldn’t care,” Jeezy replied. “Cause what people think about me ain’t none of my spiritual business. It’s just not, but for me I don’t need validation by what you consider to be real for me to be a real man.”

He went on to recall when he and six others were arrested in 2014 after a man was shot to death at Under The Influence of Music backstage. Although none of them was charged, the short time he spent in jail had him reflect on his ways.

“Lets take the rapper and artist out of it, and a lot of the things I did because I was trying to get validation,” he continued. “I wanted people to know my issue. I’m doing this now, and the last time I got locked up in LA when that accident happened in The Bay like that’s when I was really like, ‘You got the world, you successful, you on tour, you doing 30,000 people a night and you in jail. For what?”

“I’m sitting there going like, ‘I’m really throwing my whole career away.’ I’m trying to live by a stereotype of the code and if I do go to prison, ain’t none of these people finna send me money. They ain’t finna write me.”
