Travis Scott Teases Collaboration with Kanye West

Former Grammy nominated rapper Travis Scott took to social media this afternoon to post a short video of Kanye West aka ‘Ye’ featuring unreleased music from the duo.

The caption for the post reads ‘YE & THE JACK’ while also tagging former collaborator Gabriel Moses. Gabriel is a renowned photographer and filmmaker and has worked with popular brands such as Dior, Apple, and Nike as well as directing the FE!N Music Video off of Travis Scott’s Utopia album. Could this be a hint of new music from Ye and Travis?

    Here’s what we know

The teaser video was posted shortly after Travis unveiled his new signature Nike shoe the Cactus Jack T-Rexx. So there is a possibility of it being some sort of fashion drop (being how involved Travis and Ye have been in the fashion industry for a majority of their careers).

However there is some speculation that it could be promotion for merch AND a new music.

Long time music photographer and videographer Saint léon (who has been considered a Ye insider for many as he works closely with Kanye West, Yeezy and other music artists) posted on his Instagram story, “Can confirm it’s a new song + promotion for 🌵”.

This collaboration may add to the confusion of Ty Dolla $ign and Kanye’s second collab album Vultures 2 release, (that was supposedly set to drop May 3rd) with many wondering if Ty will be featured along with Travis and could possibly be the lead single for the second Vultures tape.

Time will tell, we will update you and this article as we receive updates!

  • G-Eazy drops new single ‘Nostalgia Cycle’ ahead of new project set to release this week

G-Eazy drops new single ‘Nostalgia Cycle’ ahead of new project set to release this week

G-Eazy drops new single ‘Nostalgia Cycle’ which is the third single he has released from his new project, ‘Everything’s Strange Here’ which drops June 26th according to an announcement in an Instagram post from G. To listen to the single, click here.

‘Nostalgia Cycle’, follows the release of ‘Free Porn, Cheap Drugs‘ and ‘Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime.’ All three singles indicate that the new project seems to have taken the bay area rapper to a more alternative singing route.

Sharing the artwork in a Twitter post for ‘Everything’s Strange Here’, G-Eazy wrote, “8 weeks ago I didn’t know I needed to make this. The world has been turned upside down and inside out — but a lot of us have had the opportunity to self reflect and evolve. This project is a representation of where my heart and head have been at. It’s honest and pure – it’s me. Take it or leave it – this is how I feel.”

It would seem as if going into isolation for Corona has brought out a new side to G.

Earlier this month, G-Eazy shared a pair of alternative covers recorded from lockdown, taking on The xx‘s 2009 track ‘VCR’, and Bob Dylan‘s 1963 classic ‘Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright’.

Will Young Thug’s album ‘Punk’ drop tonight?

    Update: It did not drop.

Per Young Thug‘s Instagram it seems something is coming from the Atlanta grammy nominated rapper. His profile picture on Instagram reads the date ‘2.28.20’.

In a December 2019 interview with HipHollywood, Young Thug had said his new album would be coming in February. Wikipedia and Genius also have listed the release date for ‘Punk’ as February 28th 2020.

However, Lil Baby’s new album ‘My Turn’ is confirmed dropping 2/28 and has a feature from Young Thug. Thug and Baby have done multiple songs together and have frequently promoted each others music. So is thugger promoting Baby or Punk? Guess we will have to wait and see.

  • Lizzo finally got her first number one song on Billboard this week with ‘Truth Hurts’

Lizzo finally got her first number one song on Billboard this week with ‘Truth Hurts’

We freaken did it, guys! Lizzo finally has a number one track. It has been a very long time coming and I am really happy for Lizzo, who has been grinding for so many years to get to this point. Recently, she stated that a few years ago she almost quit making music, because she felt that she was not getting the recognition that she deserves. I have loved Lizzo for years and I agree that she should have been getting this recognition a long time ago. Along with ‘Truth Hurts’ reaching number one, Lizzo has also seen two other songs of hers rise the Billboard charts this week, with ‘Good as Hell’ reaching #52 and ‘Juice’ reaching #82. Although ‘Good as Hell’ is from a previous album, ‘Juice’ and ‘Truth Hurts’ are on her record Cuz I Love You, which is easily one of my favorite albums to come out this year. Check out the music video for ‘Truth Hurts’ and listen to the entirety Cuz I Love You below!

  • Justine Skye shows why she is a rising superstar in the R&B game with her new ‘Bare With Me’ EP

Justine Skye shows why she is a rising superstar in the R&B game with her new ‘Bare With Me’ EP

Justine Skye has been one of the most intriguing R&B acts to become virally popular in the last couple of years. Her overall sound and style is very modern and Neo-R&B(not sounding too different from artists like Frank Ocean or Jhene Aiko), but her voice is so retro. Her voice reminds me of a lot of the music of this genre that you would hear in the early 2000s; this vocal style is delightfully out of place in this day and age.

While her voice is reminiscent of R&B music from a different time, the instrumentals that she uses are so modern, sometimes even futuristic. She combines the popular sounds of today such as trap, reggaeton, and electro-pop all into one, creating an especially unique sound because her voice is so cool and different. It is pretty tough to do so, but if I had to pick favorite songs from this EP, it would probably be ‘Maybe’ and ‘Bulletproof.’ They both really exemplify that modern yet nostalgic feel Justine excels at. Check these tracks out and the rest of the EP below!

Stream A$AP Ferg’s new album “Floor Seats”

Stream A$AP Ferg's new album "Floor Seats"

A$AP Ferg has finally released his highly anticipated new project, Floor Seats, and it does not disappoint in any way. This project is very short and to the point; at 9 songs, it is full to the brim with energy and diversity, and does not sound too bulky or repetitive as a lot of newer rap albums tend to sound. The instrumentals on this project are super cool and unique; most songs on the record have a heavy and distorted trap feeling to them, but they also are very retro New York sounding as well.

A lot of the instrumentals have melodies and horns that remind me a lot of songs by Jim Jones or 50 Cent in the early 2000s. This album is full of great features as well; A$AP Rocky, Rico Nasty, Asian Doll, Ty Dolla Sign, Brent Faiyaz, and MadeinTYO all provide excellent contributions to Floor Seats. This is not a record that you will want to miss! Check out A$AP Ferg’s new album Floor Seats below right now!
