Latto Announces Long-Awaited Playboi Carti-Assisted Remix of ‘Blick Sum’

Big Latto and King Vamp finally drop the collab fans have been waiting for

Latto is set to release the much-anticipated remix of her hit track “Blick Sum,” featuring none other than Playboi Carti. The original version of the song was featured on her 2024 album Sugar Honey Iced Tea, but fans were left wondering why Carti’s verse, which had leaked prior to the album’s release, didn’t make the final cut.

Now, after much speculation, Big Lotto confirmed on social media that the remix would officially drop on January 28, 2025. She teased the collaboration with a brief snippet of the music video, tagging Carti in the post, sparking even more excitement from fans.

The announcement follows Carti’s own social media posts, where he shared photos of himself with Latto, hinting at the track’s arrival. In these posts, the “King Vamp” rapper also declared 2025 to be his year, fueling hopes for his long-awaited I Am Music album.

With both artists making major waves in 2024, fans are eager for the remix and what might come next, especially as Playboi Carti’s I Am Music has yet to be officially released despite years of teasing.

Carti Promises Big Year Despite Fans’ Frustration Over Delayed Album

Playboi Carti has promised fans that 2025 will be his year, hinting at significant releases while linking up with rapper Latto. On January 20, Carti shared pictures of himself and the Atlanta MC dressed in high-end designer clothes with a confident caption: “HUMBLE LIKE A MF BUT DIS YEAR MINE. LATTO AH REAL 1.”

The duo also turned up in the club, with Carti’s unreleased verse on Latto’s “Blick Sum” playing over the speakers. Although the track appeared on Latto’s 2024 album Sugar Honey Iced Tea, Carti’s contribution was notably absent, leaving fans frustrated by the lack of a commercial release.

Despite Carti’s promise of a “2025 takeover,” fans remain sceptical after the rapper failed to drop his much-anticipated I Was Music album in 2024. This disappointment led to the creation of a petition with over 8,000 signatures, calling for Carti to be banned from streaming platforms until he fulfilled his album promises.

As Carti continues to tease new material, his fanbase’s patience is wearing thin, though his cryptic posts and appearances suggest big moves are coming in the year ahead.

Erykah Badu Sends Support to Playboi Carti Amid Iggy Azalea’s Claims

Legendary Singer Reaches Out to Carti Following Iggy’s Public Remarks About Their Co-Parenting Struggles

Playboi Carti has received a message of encouragement from none other than Erykah Badu after a recent viral clip of his ex, Iggy Azalea, revealed that Carti has not been in their son’s life for over six months. The message came on January 15, when Carti shared a screenshot on his Instagram Story of a kind DM from the legendary singer that simply read, “Love u. Keep on.”

The timing of the gesture coincides with Iggy’s appearance on Amouranth’s Twitch stream, where she addressed Carti’s long-awaited album and his absence in their lives. “I don’t speak to him, my love. We haven’t heard from that man in over like, six months,” she said, further revealing that she has been raising their four-year-old son, Onyx, as a single mother since their split around the time of Onyx’s birth in 2020. Iggy has previously shared her frustrations on the Dinner’s On Me podcast, expressing that she handles all of the parenting on her own and is not co-parenting with Carti.

Though it’s unclear if the two moments are connected, Badu’s support could be a comfort to Carti amid these ongoing challenges.

Iggy Speaks Out on Co-Parenting Challenges with Playboi Carti

Iggy Azalea has opened up about her strained relationship with her ex, Playboi Carti, revealing that she hasn’t been in contact with him for months, despite their shared responsibility for their young son, Onyx. During an appearance on Amouranth’s Twitch stream this week, Iggy was asked to tell Carti to release his long-awaited album, to which she responded bluntly: “We haven’t heard from that man in over like, six months. We don’t know where he is. Have no idea, have no association.”

The rapper’s comments come as a continuation of her difficult journey as a single mother. In 2022, Iggy revealed on the Dinner’s On Me podcast that she’s been raising Onyx on her own since their split in 2020. “I’m very much a single mother,” she said. “I’m very much the only parent. No disrespect, but I am not co-parenting right now.”

Iggy’s frustration with Carti’s absence was also evident when she criticized the 2023 mini-documentary Dear O, which depicted Carti and Onyx’s time together. Iggy sarcastically noted on social media how Carti’s limited involvement was edited to appear as if he were a hands-on father.

Despite their past relationship issues, Iggy emphasized her determination to protect her son from a toxic environment, reflecting on her upbringing and the volatile dynamic between her parents.
