Wu-Tang Clan Affiliate Holocaust Dies in Police Custody

Warcloud Passes Away While Held at Theo Lacy Facility

Wu-Tang Clan-affiliated rapper Holocaust, also known as Warlord, died while in police custody shortly after his arrest on theft and drug charges. The 45-year-old rapper, whose real name was Anthony Creston Brown, was found unresponsive on Sunday afternoon (December 29) at the Theo Lacy Facility in Orange County, California.

Holocaust was a member of the Black Knights, featured on the 1998 Wu-Tang Killa Bees album The Swarm and two of RZA’s Bobby Digital projects. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department stated that there were no suspicious circumstances, with a final cause of death pending an autopsy and toxicology report.

Earlier in the week, Holocaust was booked on theft charges and later for possessing drugs in jail. It is unclear if these contributed to his death.

Wu-Tang affiliate Christ Bearer expressed his disbelief on Instagram, claiming the Holocaust “did more time for mental illness than hardened criminals.” He announced plans to support Holocaust’s family through a potential GoFundMe.

Fans have taken to social media to mourn his passing, remembering his unique lyrical style and contributions to the hip-hop community.

Ghostface says the series didn’t tell his story

Ghostface Killa has apparently never watched the popular Hulu series Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga, a series about their iconic Hip-Hop group. During an appearance on the Touré Show, Pretty Tone explained that he has never paid attention to the film because he doesn’t believe it tells his story.

“I never seen that shit,” he began. “I never watched it. Never in my life. RZA know that. Because that’s not my story. You want a Ghostface story, you get a Ghostface story.”

He continued, “You could take a piece of me: ‘Oh, he had two brothers with muscular dystrophy.’ I’m me. There’s a story behind myself.”

Wu-Tang & Hov had a gig together but the latter wasn’t paid

Jay-Z is a skilled rapper but first and foremost, he’s a bussinessman, so every penny anyone owes him matters. During a recent sit-down on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, Ghostface Killa remembered when Hov asked for $500 that Wu-Tang Clan owed him.

“One time, RZA and [GZA] were telling me that Hov was on the list with us to do a show or whatever,” he began. “We gave him some time … Long story short, n-ggas ain’t pay him the money.

“You know how Hov is. He wait. A few years down the line, and bring it up to one of the n-ggas. Like, ‘Yeah, remember that time you ain’t really pay me?’”

Layzie Bone recalls Biggie helping prevent a fight between Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Wu-Tang Clan

Biggie helped Bone Thugs avoid a brawl with Wu-Tang

Layzie Bone recently sat for an interview on The Art of Dialogue where he recounted a 1996 incident where Bone Thugs-N-Harmony almost got into a brawl with Wu-Tang Clan at Russell Simon’s Christmas Party but Biggie stepped in.

“Something happened,” Layzie began. “Wu-Tang came in, one member or another member had some — it had nothing to do with the main characters; it was our up-and-coming artists and people that were around, our entourage.

“So pushing and shoving started, bottles get to throwing, a fight broke out. When [Bone Thugs’ “Everyday Thang 2” came on at the party] all hell broke loose. And then we had to get up out of there.

He continued, “Thank God, rest in peace to Chris Lighty and his brother Dave Lighty got us out the party. Coming out the party, we was finna get rushed. Now, we just went to breakfast with Method Man that morning so we didn’t understand the confusion.

“So Meth was like, ‘Ya’ll gonna get up outta here.’ But it was n-ggas coming with them thangs, though. It was finna go there and that’s when Biggie showed up. He kinda cleared the path for us to get outta there. That’s a long story short. Way more shit happened than that.”

André 3000 says there is a possibility of an Outkast album in the future

3 Stacks and Big Boi might get in the studio together again

While promoting his new symphony album the New Blue Sun, André 3000 recently appeared on CBS Mornings where he was asked if fellow Outkast rapper Big Boi ever challenges him to record a new album together.

“No, to be honest,” the ATLien responded. “No but I think because he knows who I am and knows what gets me going, knows what inspires me, knows when I’m excited about something. So I think in that sense, he’s never pushed that issue. But I’m sure like, I want another OutKast album. Yeah, like in my mind – but see, that’s the thing. That’s the human side. I want an OutKast album a long time ago.”

He added, “And honestly for me as an individual, it would be gratifying to me to put out a solo rap situation. But not for nobody else at this point. It’s for me because I actually like the challenge of, ‘How could I make this part of my life interesting and rhyme in words?’ You know what I mean? Like how can I do that? So yeah, it’s still a challenge. So I think hopefully with will and intent, something will happen.”

RZA reveals Wu-Tang Clan does record together but it’s ‘rare’

RZA says it’s becoming ‘rarer’ for Wu-Tang to get in the studio together

RZA recently sat down with host Torae for a chit-chat on The Tor Guide of Hip Hop Nation where he explained that Wu-Tang Clan does still drop rhymes together as a group, by it’s becoming less frequent.

“It’s rare. It’s getting rarer because of schedules, because of life, because of being fathers and movie stars and business men,” he said. “But it happens. And the good thing is that whether it happens with me, it still happens. Mathematics – his production skill is razor sharp so we could just pop up and he’ll hit us with a joint. DJ Scratch just dropped a couple of joints off.”
