Young Thug Jokes About Quitting Rap for Streaming: ‘I’m Done Rapping’

Atlanta rapper teases retirement on Adin Ross stream, stays tight-lipped on new album ‘Uy Scuti’

Young Thug may be considering a major career pivot — or at least joking about one. During a recent appearance on Adin Ross’ Kick livestream, the Atlanta rap icon was stunned to learn just how much money top streamers are making, and playfully suggested he might hang up the mic for good.

“I’ma stop doing music and start streaming,” Thugger told Ross. “I think I’m gonna stop. I’m telling ya, I’m done rapping and gonna start streaming.”

Thug admired the streamer lifestyle, adding, “Y’all live a cool life. Y’all go everywhere every day. Y’all got cats wondering around this bitch. Y’all got all types of crazy stuff.”

While clearly said in jest, the moment went viral — but fans hoping for more info on Thug’s upcoming album Uy Scuti were left hanging. Ross pressed him for a release date, but the rapper remained silent.

Still, the rollout for Uy Scuti has been anything but quiet. Media members have received cryptic promo packages containing live spiders and the message: “Take care of me until we reach UY SCUTI.”

Though no official date is set, the album is expected to drop sometime this month.

Thugger teases unreleased collaboration with Ken Carson and brings out Travis Scott for explosive set

Young Thug made a triumphant return to the stage at Summer Smash on June 22, delivering his first live performance since being released from jail last year. • Young Thug & Gunna Collaboration Leaks Amid Ongoing Beef Rumors

Young Thug & Gunna Collaboration Leaks Amid Ongoing Beef Rumors

Fans React to New Song “I Went From” as Tension Between the Two Rappers Grows

A long-rumored collaboration between Young Thug and Gunna has surfaced online, sparking fresh speculation about their strained relationship. The song, titled “I Went From,” reportedly dates back to 2020, before the pair’s involvement in the YSL RICO case, and features both rappers reflecting on their rise from the “trenches” to winning Billboard awards.

The release of the track comes at a tense moment, as rumors of a beef between the two have intensified following Gunna’s decision to take a plea deal in the case. In the aftermath of Gunna’s plea, which led to his release from jail in December 2022, Young Thug has seemingly thrown shade at his former collaborator. On the recent Lil Baby track “Dum, Dumb, And Dumber,” Thug raps, “Never associate with a rat,” a line many fans believe is a subtle diss aimed at Gunna.

In response to these ongoing rumors, Gunna’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, defended the rapper, clarifying that Gunna’s plea deal did not implicate Young Thug in any way. Sadow emphasized that Gunna was not a witness in Thug’s trial, and his plea had no bearing on Thug’s legal situation.

Despite the growing tension, the release of “I Went From” serves as a reminder of the duo’s once-strong working relationship, leaving fans to wonder what the future holds for their collaboration.

The announcement comes after speculation that their relationship might have been strained due to their connections with other artists, including Drake. Fans quickly took to social media to express their enthusiasm about the upcoming album, with one tweet predicting it would be “one of the albums of the year.”

  • Young Thug’s Family Feud: Son Calls Out Rapper Over Priorities

Young Thug’s Family Feud: Son Calls Out Rapper Over Priorities

There’s drama brewing in Young Thug’s family, and it all started with his 14-year-old son airing grievances on Instagram. According to AllHipHop, the teen, known by his handle bloodyhound_babyjeff, accused the rapper of prioritizing his girlfriend, Mariah the Scientist, over him.

“S*** hit different when ya own family ain’t f*** with ya💔,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. He further vented, claiming he’s been neglected since his mother, Lakevia Jackson, was tragically killed in 2022 at an Atlanta bowling alley. “Can’t believe n***s pick they hs over they kids shyt crazy‼️” he added. Though the posts have since been deleted, they sparked a heated response from Young Thug’s sister, Dora Williams.

Williams dismissed Mariah as the issue, instead blaming bloodyhound_babyjeff’s “entitlement.” She claimed he rejected opportunities for education and chose the streets over a stable future. “All they wanna do is make drill music and do drugz,” she said, refusing to fund his lifestyle.

As of now, Young Thug has not responded to the family dispute. Fans are left wondering if the rapper will step in to mend these fractured relationships.

  • Young Thug’s Co-Defendant Files Lawsuit Over Jail Conditions

Young Thug’s Co-Defendant Files Lawsuit Over Jail Conditions

Shannon Stillwell sues Fulton County Jail, alleging cruel treatment and violations of constitutional rights

The aftermath of Young Thug’s YSL trial continues to unfold, as one of his co-defendants, Shannon Stillwell, is suing authorities in Fulton County, Georgia, over his alleged mistreatment while incarcerated in Fulton County Jail. The lawsuit, filed on December 10 in federal court, comes a week after Stillwell was found guilty of one charge—possession of a firearm by a convicted felon—and sentenced to time served and probation. He was released from jail on December 17.

Stillwell, joined by fellow inmate Nkenegen Hambrick, filed the legal action as a class action suit for anyone who has been, is, or will be detained in the facility. Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat and the county’s chief jailer, John Jackson, are named in the lawsuit. The suit accuses the jail of providing “cruel and unusual” conditions that violate prisoners’ constitutional rights.

The allegations include the failure to restrict access to materials for makeshift weapons, broken doors allowing unauthorized entry or exit from jail cells, and unsanitary conditions, with prisoners allegedly subjected to inadequate food and hygiene. Stillwell was one of the few defendants in the YSL case to face trial, with co-defendant Yak Gotti found not guilty on all counts.

  • Gunna’s Lawyer Defends Him Against Snitching Claims: ‘He Did Nothing to Harm Thug’s Case’

Gunna’s Lawyer Defends Him Against Snitching Claims: ‘He Did Nothing to Harm Thug’s Case’

Lawyer sets the record straight, emphasizing Gunna’s innocence in cooperating with authorities

Gunna‘s former lawyer is not here for his former client consistently being labeled a snitch, especially since he knows every detail of his case.

Steve Sadow represented Gunna in the YSL RICO trial, which infamously found the rapper released nearly two years before Young Thug after reaching an Alford plea deal.

And while he has maintained that no snitching was involved, fans, media, and even some of his peers have labeled Gunna a rat in the time since his release.

Thug himself also appears to not be on good terms with his artist, and many think he’s hitting out at Gunna on a new snippet he shared to his Instagram Story where he raps, “Never associate with a rat/ Go and get some money, get a pack.”

After the website Sports Skeeda reported on the snippet, Sadow had enough and hit out at the false narrative on his X page.

“I was Gunna’s attorney but I am NOT speaking on his behalf. This long post is solely to set out the truth,” he began. “Gunna did NOT cooperate, and did NOTHING and said NOTHING to cause harm to Thug’s case. He spent 8 months in jail and was released in Dec. 2022 after entering an Alford plea. Gunna’s plea could not and was not used at Thug’s trial and he was never even named as a witness. He received a 5-year suspended sentence, with no reporting, no travel restrictions, no living restrictions, AND NO PROBATION.

“Over the last two years, from media reports, he has performed all over the world, achieved international fame and recognition, and earned millions of dollars. Conversely, Thug went to trial and eventually pled guilty and nolo after spending 30-months in jail, received 15 years probation, with reporting conditions and is not even allowed to live in Atlanta. THOSE THAT HAVE AND CONTINUE TO BAD MOUTH GUNNA, GET OVER IT. NUFF’ SAID.”

He concluded: “Love the street rules and the dry-snitched comments. Oh the fake outrage, same old s**t. Both were charged with RICO. Both faced 20 yrs in prison. Both pled to RICO. Regardless, I’m more than willing to accept the blame for the great deal.”

Upon his release from jail in October, Young Thug sought out and received special permission from the judge who freed him to work with Gunna – but it seems like he might not take her up on the opportunity.

On November 9, Thugger posted — then quickly deleted — a message to his YSL compatriot and former codefendant.

“Gunna stop acting like we friends on the internet, I don’t know u my guy,” he wrote.

Many have speculated about the tension between Thug and Gunna since the latter’s 2022 plea deal.

Producer Wheezy hints at a long-awaited sequel with studio snapshot

Fans of Young Thug and Future may soon be treated to Super Slimey 2, the follow-up to their 2017 collaborative album. Producer Wheezy recently ignited excitement by sharing an Instagram Story featuring ATL Jacob at the piano with a glowing neon sign reading Super Slimey 2 in the background.

While no official announcement has been made, the visual all but confirms the project’s existence. Originally teased in 2019, the sequel was expected to include Gunna and Lil Baby, though Gunna’s involvement is now uncertain.

The first Super Slimey debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, moving over 75,000 album-equivalent units in its opening week.

Meanwhile, Young Thug, freshly released from jail, has already made waves with “Dum, Dumb & Dumber,” a hard-hitting track from Lil Baby’s album WHAM. Produced by Wheezy and featuring Future, the song sees Thug addressing his incarceration with swagger and confidence.
