Benzino reflects on becoming a grandfather despite his strained relationship with daughter Coi
Benzino is getting ready to be a grandfather and embarking on a whole new chapter in life. This was recently revealed by his daughter, Coi Leray, who is expecting a baby by rapper Trippie Redd. Sharing his views on the news, the previous star of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta made an appearance on the We In Miami podcast.
“I’m gonna be a grandfather. Wow!” declared Benzino. “I just found out when everybody else found out. It’s gonna mature her up. I hope it does. Because she’s finally gonna get to know what it is to be a parent.” He wished for Coi to learn a little about his own experiences of parenting.
“It’s just awkward since the entire nature of our story is on the Net,” Benzino, reflecting on their estrangement, explained, acknowledging the complications of his relationship with Coi, which has generally hit the headlines. “That baby gonna know its granddaddy,” he said. He even stated that whatever his issues with Coi are, it would not come in the way of his responsibility of caring for, upbringing, and morally guiding the future grandchild.”
