“If they’d made a movie about my life it would be a classic” –

Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us‘ ending credits Nipsey Hussle‘s song, “Picture Me Rollin,” a track featured on the late Nipsey’s Slauson Boy 2 project. Ava has steadily been working, as she’s rolling out her new series on the OWN Network, Cherish the Day.

There’s been a bidding war on hand for Nipsey Hussle’s feature documentary, under his Marathon Films umbrella. While it’s been prematurely noted that will secure the documentary, Marathon Clothing has confirmed that they are still in negotiation with Netflix for the Ava DuVernay, co-produced project, which will also be with her ARRAY company.

“This documentary is very important to the family and will not be fasted tracked by monetary gain and/or commercial interest,” Marathon Clothing says in a post on Instagram.
