Veteran rapper DMX is gearing up to drop his next album. It turns out the late Pop Smoke as well as Griselda boys have a spot on the upcoming project
A clip of an upcoming Drink Champs interview with the rapper has surfaced. In the clip, Drink Champ host N.O.R.E. asked X if the album will feature new generation rappers. At first, the host asked if the likes of Lil Tjay, Rick Ross and Meek Mill will be on it, but X had some other thoughts. “I got uh, Griselda boys, Pop Smoke,” he answered. “That’s what type of new I’m doing.”
As the Pop Smoke collab comes as a surprise, X explained that it happened as a coincidence. “The growl and everything,” he said, referring to Pop’s voice, “It was just a coincidence.”
As for the Griselda collabo, Westside Gunn first teased the partnership in December last year. Taking to Twitter, Westside shared a photo of him, Conway The Machine and Benny The Butcher captioning it, “S/O to DMX & the Ruff Ryders.”
