Kendrick Lamar continues to make history with his second studio GKMC
Kendrick Lamar’s mainstream debut Good Kid, M. A. A. D City continues to hit great milestones a decade after its release. According to Billboard, the 3× platinum, RIAA-certified album was the highest-selling vinyl rap album in 2021.
Moving 194,000 copies, GKMC was overall the 10th best-selling vinyl album before Taylor Swift‘s Folklore that sold 195,000.
In mid last year, Chard Data announced that the highly-acclaimed album was the longest-running on Billboard 200 Chart after it spent 450 consecutive weeks on the charts.
For five years, the world has been eagerly waiting for K. Dot to unleash his next studio album. It’s safe to remain optimistic since the Compton icon did reveal last August that the forthcoming album, which he said will be his last to release through Top Dawg Entertainment, will see the light sooner than later.
