The debut earned the No. 1 premiere on the Starz app across all their programmings in 2021. It also broke several other records at Starz and is reported to be “one of the most highly engaged series premieres ever,” Deadline reports.

“Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson continues to find and cultivate stories like BMF that are culturally relevant, bringing the network important untold stories that are incredibly diverse both in front of and behind the camera,” Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch said in a statement. “Following such a strong debut, we’re excited to see what Curtis, Randy and the award-worthy cast deliver in the second season.”

BMF is based on the story of Detroit brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory who ran a historic drug business in the late 80s. Hip hop legends Snoop Dogg and Eminem are among the decorated cast of the series.

The second episode of BMF will premiere on Starz on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
