Timb earns career achievement
Timbaland will be one of the figures to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2024, according to Billboard. The Virginia producer will be inducted on June 13 alongside R.E.M, Steely Dan, Hillary Lindsey, and Dean Pitchford.
Public Enemy, George Clinton, and Tracy Chapman were nominated but will not be inducted.
“I’ve said it before, but the music industry does not exist without songwriters delivering great songs first,” Nile Rodgers, chairman of Hall of Fame, said. “Without them there is no recorded music, no concert business, no merch . . . nothing, it all starts with the song and the songwriter.”
