Roddy Ricch is focused on making his next body of work – “timeless”

After coming off his stellar body of work, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, 22-year-old Roddy Ricch says he isn’t worried about hits. Instead, he’s focused on making timeless music.

“I’ve been paying closer attention to detail recently,” Roddy said in his new cover story interview with Complex. “I feel like I’m a perfectionist. I just like things to be right… Going into my next album, I want to tap into something that’s timeless.”

Roddy has been teasing the third installment to his debut mixtape Feed Tha Streets. Roddy feels like “taking [the listeners] back to basics” will “bridge the gap” between his old fans and new fans.

“There’s all the old fans I had when I first started rapping, and these new fans I got since the big album and Grammys and everything.”

Speaking on “timeless” music, Roddy names Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy as the GOAT album.

“Mainly because everything he put into the album,” Roddy said. “He tapped into timeless music. You can make a body of work that can age bad, or, you can make a body of that you can make a body of work for years and years to come.”
